Unless something crazy drops in pop music in the next 6 months, this is Pop Album of The Year for me. Olivia Rodrigo's third album showcases an even bigger improvement in songwriting compared to her last album from 2023 'GUTS'. It also showcases some excellent production and a more matured version of Olivia Rodrigo's music. I had very high hopes going into this album as I really enjoyed her last album even with a few issues bringing it down. I am very glad to say those hopes were not crushed at all. The song opens with the lead single 'drop dead' which for some reason, some people point to as being a questionable lead single and not that good. Me personally, I really enjoy the song and I think the production is really good. 'stupid song' is a highlight for me on the album. The orchestral background is a really nice touch to an already great song. A couple more highlights have to be 'my way', 'the cure', and 'what's wrong with me' (the latter having a feature from Robert Smith from the band The Cure which is awesome). This is an overall really great album and I'm glad my high hopes for this album did not get crushed.
